Term 4 begins!!

It was lovely to arrive at school today and be greeted by happy, enthusiastic students!
I cant believe it is Term 4 already - where has the year gone...

In Room 4 this morning we talked about all of the things we have to look forward to this term, these were some of the highlights:
*200m swim challenge
*Athletics Day
* Road Patrols day at the pools
* Intermediate visits
* Awapuni's got talent
* Student Led Conferences

and much more!

We are going to have to work really hard to fit everything in on top of our learning!

I wonder what the highlight of the year for Room 4 student's has been...

Enviroschools - Rooms 4 and 6.

Room 4 and Room 6 really enjoying getting together during Enviroschools time.
We have looked at:

The garden and how we can take care of plants.
Recycling and reducing the amount of waste that we have.

This term we are looking at New Zealand animal and birds that are endangered. We think it is important to look after these animals so that they do not become extinct so we want to learn how we can protect them.

Here are some photos of us working together:

Term 3
Wow, this year is going fast!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday. In Room 4 we had students that went on exciting trips away with their families and other students that stayed home and spent time together in Gisborne.

Check out our class blogs to see what we enjoyed most about our break.

It was nice to catch up with our 'Buddies' from Room 13 for reading this week. We look forward to hearing more of their NZ Native bird stories.
Have a look at the photos below to see our senior students being wonderful role models for the juniors.

Holiday fun

Hi Room 4
I hope you are all having a lovely holiday and that you are enjoying spending time with your families.

What have you been doing?

Jaia and I spent a few days in Hamilton and Rotorua. We had a great time! We went on the gondolas and down the luge. We also went on a giant sky swing - it was very scary!!

I have a friend that is in the AOS in Hamilton. He took Jaia into their squad room and showed him all of the weapons, tools and special equipment they have. Jaia wants to be a policeman so he thought this was fantastic. He got to learn about the job and what he needs to do to ensure that he is able to go to police college when he is older. The best advice he was given was to try hard at school and stay active because you have to pass lots of tests and be able to meet high standards in fitness and strength.

We went to a really fun drift cart track as well. I just watched but Jaia had a blast.

Here are some photos from our trip.
If you have any photos from your holidays we would love to see them.
